Waking Up
by Koye Berry
And I am at the wheel
Of a steel silver car
In a watercolor of city lights,
And pretty neighbor boys,
And the old chain stores
With my childhood inside.
I step out and into the scene---
Where have I even gotten to?
The car is gone.
The neighbors have moved.
The stores are all closed.
